Since 2002, Dr. Burch has taught all three grade levels in the area of Social Studies at Perry Middle. He previously taught at two Georgia high schools, and two Georgia Youth Development Centers. He has also served as a private tutor in Kentucky for many years and educational case manager for Heart of Georgia RESA/WIA. In 2003, he served on the state-wide board writing Georgia Performance Standards. He was nominated as a candidate for the 2003 Georgia Author of the Year with his book, Adiel Sherwood:Baptist Antebellum Pioneer of Georgia.
